Martin de Jong lives in Holland and calls himself an amateur photographer. Martin is an avid koi hobbyist and his photographs of his koi are really up-close and personal. When I built the first Koi ID CD I thought Martin actually got into the pond in scuba gear and used an underwater camera to take these incredible photos. All he does is use a 10 gallon aquarium with some bricks in it to help keep it below the water surface and shoots the pictures through the glass with a digital camera. These are some large images so your computer may have to do some work to load them all depending on how much RAM you have. Some of the header photos used on these pages were taken by Martin, also.

These photos were taken by Martin in 2002.  He calls them his early work.  He and his wife, Marijke, have greatly improved there photographic skills since then.
