----------------

Most everyone that really becomes involved with the koi hobby dreams of visiting the home of koi in Yamakoshi, the northern mountains of Japan in Niigata prefecture.  I first became involved with the koi business at our garden shop in 1996.  The spring of 2006 my dream of visiting the birth place of Nishikigoi came true.

As I prepare for my 4th trip to the beautiful mountains of Japan I decided to resume working on this web site that I first started in 2006.  I hope that I've organized this site in a way that will help other "koi kichi" get a feel for what it is like.  At this time all of the main pages have content, but of the 86 pages I have for the breeders there are only 15 with images.  I'll add more during this trip and after I return.

If you would like me to purchase a special koi for you (April 5th-10th, 2010) contact me by April 3rd via phone or email and via email while I'm in Japan.  I'll be glad to provide you photos of koi that meet your size, age and price requirements.

By clicking on the image below it will open Martin and Marijke's "Koi Foto" site.  They are my dear friends from the Netherlands and I look forward to seeing them again soon in Niigata.

Anyone viewing this site that would like to visit Japan to see koi and or places of interest can contact Steve Gibbins "Koi Tours" by clicking on the image below.  I first met Steve at Koi America in 2005.  He is very knowledgeable about koi and the koi farms in Japan.
